3. Products & Descriptions

We take care to ensure that product descriptions, imagery, and pricing are accurate. However, slight variations may occur due to the handmade nature of our products, natural materials, or screen display differences.

All candles are intended for both decorative and functional use, when used responsibly and in accordance with care instructions.

4. Orders & Payment

  • All orders are subject to availability and acceptance.

  • Payment is taken in full at checkout via Shopify’s secure payment system.

  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order at any time, including in cases of pricing errors or suspected fraud.

If an order is cancelled after payment has been taken, you will receive a full refund.

5. Shipping

Shipping options, costs, and estimated delivery times are displayed at checkout.

While we currently sell primarily within the UK, we may offer international shipping. Any customs duties, taxes, or import charges for international orders are the responsibility of the customer.

Delivery times are estimates only and may vary due to circumstances beyond our control.

6. Returns & Refunds

We want you to be happy with your purchase.

Returns

  • You may return unused items within 14 days of receipt, in line with UK Consumer Contracts Regulations.

  • Items must be returned in their original condition and packaging.

  • For hygiene and safety reasons, used or burned candles cannot be returned unless faulty.

Refunds

  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method once the returned item is received and inspected.

  • Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the item is faulty.

  • Return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is defective.

7. Candle Safety & Proper Use

Our candles must be used responsibly. By purchasing and using our products, you agree to follow standard candle safety guidance, including:

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended

  • Keep away from children, pets, and flammable materials

  • Always place on a stable, heat-resistant surface

  • Trim the wick before lighting

  • Do not burn for longer than the recommended time

  • Stop use when little wax remains

Failure to follow safety instructions may result in damage or injury for which Balanced Universe Ltd cannot be held responsible.

8. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Balanced Universe Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from the use or misuse of our products.

  • Our total liability in connection with any order shall not exceed the amount paid for the product.

Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights or our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
